1. There is a dog running around my property that is not mine, what do I do?

Call Police Dispatch for assistance at (573) 302-2010.  An officer will pick up the dog and attempt to find the appropriate owner using collar or chip information.

3. What if I live OUTSIDE Osage Beach city limits and need animal control assistance?

Property owners OUTSIDE Osage Beach City limits, but within Camden County, will contact Camden County Animal Control for animal assistance at (573) 346-4440. Miller County does NOT currently have an animal control division. Property owners OUTSIDE Osage Beach city limits, but within Miller County, must be self-reliant in issues regarding animal control.

4. I have a lost dog or cat, what do I do?

If you have lost a dog or cat, we suggest calling the Police Department and surrounding animal shelters, plus also making a post on local Facebook groups and Nextdoor dedicated to lost pets. 

When police officers come across a lost pet, they rely on tags and chips to find the owner. The City of Osage Beach has limited facilities to house animals, so if a lost or stray animal is not claimed in a reasonable amount of time, the animal will be placed in an area shelter. The only shelter within city limits is Dogwood Animal Shelter, which can be contacted at (573) 348-4411.
