[ARCHIVED] Osage Beach Winter Weather Operations

Update 1/9/25, 11 a.m.: Osage Beach Public Works will be on call tonight and tomorrow to treat and clear roads. Another winter storm could bring 2"-4" of snow to the region overnight. Updates will be posted to Facebook, Instagram and here on the website.

Winter Weather Operations resources

Winter weather has officially arrived in the Ozarks. As storms roll in, the City of Osage Beach deploys crews around the clock to treat and clear roads, address water meter disconnect requests*, and respond to emergency calls. Residents can also take steps to protect their homes and vehicles from freezing temperatures. We’ve put together a list of helpful resources.

  • The Plowing Priority map divides public streets within city limits into priority zones. The Transportation Department focuses on plowing high volume streets first, followed by residential roads.
  • Visit Winter Weather Operations for frequently asked questions about plowing plus winter driving resources from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
  • Download a printable Winter Car Kit Checklist (PDF) courtesy of the Osage Beach Police Department.
  • Download a printable Home Winterizing Checklist (PDF) courtesy of the Osage Beach Public Works Department. Most importantly, drip faucets when temperatures drop below 15°F. That's when pipes are most likely to freeze.

*Courtesy meter disconnects

Public Works offers courtesy meter disconnects to customers. If your water meter pit freezes, call Public Works immediately, no matter the time of day. To make a request, call (573) 302-2020 during business hours. After hours, call police dispatch at (573) 302-2010. Requests are addressed in the order they are received. Meters are easily damaged, so please don’t try to turn off the valve yourself.
