Trade and tourism were the primary topics of discussion during a special visit by the Israeli Consul General of Miami to Osage Beach City Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky and Deputy Consul General Ayellet Black joined Oasis at Lakeport developer Jeff Tegethoff for a meeting with Mayor Michael Harmison at City Hall.
They discussed the partnership between Tegethoff Development and the City of Osage Beach to promote tourism and create jobs at Oasis at Lakeport, a new family resort and entertainment district. The group surveyed the ongoing construction at the $400 million, 25-acre development, where the first phase of restaurants and amusement park rides is expected to open this summer.
“It was both an honor and a genuine pleasure to meet with the Consul General,” said Harmison. “I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with him and look forward to working together in the future to promote tourism at Lake of the Ozarks. I believe our partnership has great potential to showcase the area’s natural beauty and unique attractions to a wider audience.”
Elbaz-Starinsky, based in Miami, Florida, hopes to strengthen ties between Israel and the people and governments of Missouri, Kansas, Puerto Rico and Florida, with a focus on business, tourism and interfaith collaboration.
“Missouri’s warm hospitality and dedication to progress left a lasting impression,” Elbaz-Starinsky shared on LinkedIn following his visit. “I look forward to deepening our connections and fostering collaboration in the future.”
Elbaz-Starinsky visited Missouri to attend the inauguration of Governor Mike Kehoe and meet with elected officials and state leaders before traveling to Osage Beach. To learn more about Oasis at Lakeport, read about the prestigious ongoing safety partnership with OSHA.
