Osage Beach Mayor Lyons has proclaimed the week of June 15-21, 2011 as National Public Works Week. The Department of Public Works provides the Osage Beach residents and visitors services that are integral to everyday life.
The support of an understanding and informed citizen of Osage Beach is vital to the efficient operation of the systems and programs of the Department of Public Works, such as water, sewers, streets, highways, public buildings, and solid waste collection. The health, safety, and comfort of Osage Beach community greatly depends on the systems and programs of the department and the quality and effectiveness of such systems and programs is dependent upon the efforts and skill of the department's dedicated officials and personnel.
The officials and personnel who dedicate themselves to the department are materially influenced by citizens' attitude and understanding of the importance of the work they perform. In proclaiming National Public Works Week, Mayor Lyons calls upon all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the issues involved in providing the systems and programs of the Department of Public Works and to recognize the contributions which public works officials and personnel make every day to our health, safety, comfort and quality of life.
