Local Court Rule #1

26th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, OSAGE BEACH MUNICIPAL DIVISION
                                                   LOCAL COURT RULE #1

TO ALL ATTORNEY’S SEEKING A NEGOTIATED PLEA

If you are representing a defendant in Osage Beach Municipal Division and are seeking a negotiated plea with the Prosecuting Attorney, you MUST receive the plea agreement PRIOR the close of business on the Tuesday before the docketed court date. Preparing forms and computer entries are a time consuming process that demands accuracy and will not be done while court is in session.

Effective immediately, all case(s) in which plea negotiations occur on the docketed court date will be continued to the next attorney docket date for disposition.

For example, if your client drove from St. Louis for a DWI and you negotiated a plea on the court date, the client will need to appear in court again for disposition.

There will be NO exceptions. The court clerk is the support staff to the Judge during court sessions and will no longer divert attention to negotiated pleas filed that day.

This Rule signed and dated by Judge William F Washburn on April 25, 2018
